Nintendo Switch 2 owners looking for a meatier offline football campaign are in luck. Konami has officially announced that eFootball™ Kick-Off! will receive a major, completely free content update in Fall 2026, introducing a brand-new, dedicated Leagues Mode.
Launched earlier this summer as a digital-exclusive budget title for the Switch 2, Kick-Off! marked Konami’s return to Nintendo platforms after 14 years. While the base game already made waves for ditching live-service microtransactions in favor of classic, offline-first PES-style gameplay, single-player fans have been clamoring for traditional seasonal league structures—and Konami is officially delivering.

What to Expect in the Free Leagues Update
- Full Season Play: Players can take their favorite licensed clubs through full domestic league seasons, managing fixture schedules, squad fatigue, and points tables.
- Expanded Competition Roster: The update confirms inclusion for top-tier and lower-tier divisions, including the English top flight and the EFL Championship, giving fans room for proper multi-tier promotion and relegation battles.
- Offline Synergy with World Tour: The new Leagues Mode will sit alongside the game’s existing World Tour mode—where players start with classic fictional PES-style squads (like Castolo and Minanda) and recruit talent across global stops.
- Post-Launch Support Commitment: This update follows the recent post-launch addition of the International Cup mode, proving Konami is actively listening to community feedback for its £17.99 Switch 2 package.
The Retro PES Nostalgia Engine
For classic Pro Evolution Soccer purists, eFootball Kick-Off! has quietly become one of the best surprises on the Switch 2. Running at a smooth 60fps, featuring offline couch co-op throughout its campaigns, and emphasizing fast-paced pick-up-and-play action, the addition of a proper Leagues Mode brings it one major step closer to the beloved Master League experience of the PS2/PS3 era.
