Retro hardware outfit Hyperkin is giving its iconic portable SNES clone a mid-decade face-lift. Debuted live on the floor at Classic Game Fest in Austin, Texas, the new SupaBoy Crimson and SupaBoy Prime models refresh the 15-year-old handheld with sleek semi-transparent cases.
- SupaBoy Crimson: Nods to the classic deep-red Famicom aesthetic with dark-tinted clear housing.
- SupaBoy Prime: Sports standard grey transparent plastic accented by the legendary four-color Japanese/PAL SNES face buttons.
Both units retain the original hardware’s 3.5-inch display, physical cart slot for original SNES/Super Famicom cartridges, and front-facing ports for original controllers to run two-player TV-out play. The pair is slated for release in Fall 2026.
