Bethesda Softworks and port partner Virtuos are officially launching The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on Nintendo Switch 2 on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
Physical Release and Storage Details
Following early concerns over digital download codes for video games, Bethesda confirmed that the retail physical version includes the base game. Additionally, it includes all major expansions directly on the game cartridge.
- Base game rebuilt with updated lighting and asset streaming
- Shivering Isles and Knights of the Nine expansions pre-installed
- Full DLC add-on suite including Fighter’s Stronghold, Spell Tomes, and Horse Armor
Target Specs and Control Features
The Switch 2 edition takes advantage of modern hardware features to deliver portable Cyrodiil exploration.
- Target Performance: 1080p docked and 900p handheld
- Performance Mode: Utilizes NVIDIA DLSS upscaling to target a 30 FPS baseline
- Control Enhancements: Optional gyro motion aiming for archery and spell casting, touch menu navigation, and USB mouse support
