Following overwhelmingly positive critical reviews for their turn-based tactics game Star Wars Zero Company, developer Bit Reactor has expressed a keen interest in expanding their partnership with Lucasfilm Games and Electronic Arts to create future Star Wars strategy titles.
Speaking in a series of post-launch interviews, studio head Greg Foertsch reflected on the reception to Zero Company and shared his vision for the future of tactical strategy games set within the Star Wars universe.
Critical Acclaim and Genre Expansion
- Zero Company Launch: Released today, August 27, 2026, across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
- High Production Values: Bit Reactor aimed to bridge the gap between traditional complex tactics games (such as XCOM) and cinematic, narrative-driven RPGs, featuring full voice acting, high-end visual fidelity, and deep character customization.
- Developer Interest: Studio leadership confirmed they would “love to continue exploring” the Star Wars mythos, noting that turn-based gameplay provides a unique lens for examining different eras, military conflicts, and galactic factions.
Future Opportunities for the Franchise
While no formal sequels or expansions have been greenlit yet by EA or Lucasfilm Games, Bit Reactor highlighted several potential avenues for growth:
- Eras Beyond the Clone Wars: Although Zero Company takes place during the twilight of the Clone Wars, the studio noted interest in exploring the Imperial era, the Galactic Civil War, or Mandalorian bounty hunter narratives.
- Community Support: The team emphasized that ongoing post-launch support and long-term player engagement will play a major role in shaping potential expansion content or future strategy projects.
