Physical media champion Limited Run Games has sent a jolt of energy through retro communities by locking in two massive compilation announcements for modern platforms. Headlining the reveal is the Fighting Force Collection, which bundles Core Design’s beloved 1997 3D beat-’em-up Fighting Force alongside its futuristic 1999 sequel, Fighting Force 2. Originally planned as a Streets of Rage sequel before moving to a standalone franchise, the brawlers are being ported via emulation experts Implicit Conversions and will feature updated controls and modern save states for PS5 and Nintendo Switch.

As you know Fighting Force is one of my favourite games and i’m especially looking forward to this one. Catch my lets play here

Not stopping there, retro enthusiasts are also getting the Earnest Evans Collection. This package bundles Wolf Team’s cult-classic, highly experimental side-scrolling action trilogy originally found on the Sega Mega-CD and Genesis, including Earnest Evans, El Viento, and Annet Futatabi. Known for their cinematic anime cutscenes and incredibly unique, multi-jointed sprite physics, these imports have historically commanded absurd prices on the secondary collector’s market. Limited Run’s upcoming physical and digital releases will mark the very first time some of these 16-bit gems have officially been translated and made accessible to western audiences.
