For over 30 years, playing Sega’s legendary Star Wars Arcade meant tracking down an incredibly rare, massive, dual-screen sit-down cabinet, or settling for the heavily compromised 1994 Sega 32X home port.
The original Model 1 arcade hardware utilized complex, early 3D coprocessor math that has historically given emulators fits, resulting in corrupted HUDs, misaligned target reticles, and severe wireframe glitching.
With the release of WANGMODEL1 emulator v1.3, developers have finally reverse-engineered the board’s custom DSP (Digital Signal Processor). For the first time ever, the original, gorgeous, flat-shaded polygon classic is fully playable on standard PC hardware with perfect graphics, pristine audio, and complete cabinet cabinet-linking support.
